To coincide with our new monthly newsletter we’ve launched our Trinity Accountants ‘Business of the Month’ award. We want to celebrate our client’s achievements by recognising one client a month to receive the award, based on their business results and achievements.
So, without further ado I’d like to congratulate the very first winner of the Trinity ‘Business of the Month’ award for February 2014.
Due to consistent growth over the last 12 months and for continued high levels of client satisfaction, we are pleased to present the ‘Business of the Month’ award to…
[Drum roll please]…
Rosie Evans of Rev Marketing!
Congratulations to you and everyone at Rev Marketing for an outstanding 12 months of hard work. The growth of the business has really accelerated over the last year and impressed us all here at Trinity. Keep up the good work!
To give you a little background on Rev Marketing, and maybe a few tips from their success, we interviewed Rosie to get the full story.
Why did you originally start Rev Marketing?
rev-
I started Rev Marketing with a passion to provide effective and results-driven marketing services at an affordable price. I noticed that a lot of people were unable to afford the high costs of established marketing agencies.
How has the business developed since you started out?
I was originally working for friends – providing that boost they were struggling to afford. In 2011, I was offered voluntary redundancy, which made me step back and assess the business I had built…I realised my ad-hoc service had grown to a thriving business with many opportunities. We set up full time and employed staff! We closed FY 2012-13 having increased our turnover by 62% and are on target to see a further 44% increase this year.
What challenges or problems have you faced and how have you overcome them?
Time is a big challenge! We’re constantly looking for new ways to help our clients grow their businesses so keeping up-to-date with the latest trends is vital – but time consuming! Fortunately, we’re all very passionate about what we do so researching the latest social media trend, for example, is fun – yes, we are all marketing geeks!
How have Trinity helped you get your business to where it is today?
Trinity Accountants have been fabulous in helping us save money and ensure all our financial obligations are handled correctly. This has included helping us transition from a sole trader to a Limited company, becoming VAT registered and managing our payroll as well as the usual financial logging and reporting that you would expect. Trinity Accountants are also very proactive – they have approached me several times about upcoming government schemes for example…although we’re yet to be eligible.
What one tip would you give to another business owner starting up today?
For me, having an accountant onboard from the start was imperative as I identified it wasn’t really my forte and was absorbing a lot of my time. Be honest with yourself about your weaknesses and ensure you’ve got experts working on what they are best at.
Congratulations again to Rosie and her team at Rev Marketing – it’s a fantastic achievement to go from a sideline business helping friends to a thriving professional business.
Now we’ve announced the winner we’ll shout about Rev Marketing (and future winners) from the rooftops using our social media platforms, blog and of course this newsletter.
Look out for our next newsletter to see who wins the second ‘Business of the Month’ award. If you know someone who deserves to be nominated let us know at info@trinity-accountants.co.uk.
